MANILA, Philippines – A transport group announced that a transport holiday is now in need.
Integrated Metro Bus Operators Association (IMBOA), lead by Claire dela Fuente, declared that there will be a transport holiday which includes the major forms of transportations.
Claire dela Fuente said that other people, or companies, should not benefit or take profit from others hard-earned moneys.
She also said that the people must not get furious with their plans and that it would also benefit everyone for a reason that they are taking actions to force the oil companies to lower down their rates.
Major transport groups have already met and made plans for their nationwide transport holiday. The said holiday/strike includes taxis, jeeps, buses, FXs, tricycles and trucks. It was said that a schedule has been said for their strike but they will not yet announce when it will be.
Dela Fuente also said that they are waiting for the investigation of the Senate with regards to the mechanisms of oil pricing.
She also said that as calculated by the National Economic Development Authority, it would be easy for oil companies to implement significant rollbacks for having known that the Dubai’s crude rate has been going down and that case makes a large impact on the world market.
She said that they are asking for a 7-peso or higher rate rollback.
