Three Tibetan monks, Tensing, Lampo and Dompe, sat beside a lake in deep meditation. Tensing stood up and said, "I need to get my prayers beads." He stepped onto the water and walked across the lake to their monastery on the others side.
After he returned, Lampo stood up and said, "I need to get my begging bowl. " He too walked across the water and returned the same way!
Dompe was mystified. "If I have meditated and prayed as long and as deep as you two, " he told both of them, "then I too can gain mastery to do what both of you have done!" He then rushed to the water but promptly fell into the current.
Undaunted, Dompe tried again, only to sink onto the water. This went on and on and on until Dompe finally gave up and left to change his robes.
Tensing and Lampo, then looked at each other. "Do you think, " said Tehnsing "we should tell out friends where the hidden rocks are? "
