MANILA, Philippines – The lower house of the congress said that they are willing to correlate with the upper house to ascertain that Jocelyn “Joc-joc” Bolante, former Agriculture undersecretary, will be attending their probe on the fertilizer fund scandal.

Prospero Nograles, House speaker, said that the House will be okay with whatever decision the Senate makes.

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano of the Blue Ribbon Committee announced on a Senate hearing for the fertilizer fund scandal that the House can invite Bolante to appear on their probe in a condition that they make proper coordination with them.

Bolante is currently under the custody of the Senate.

Abraham Kahlil Mitra, Palawan Representative, stated his point that they will keenly scrutinize every detail that Bolante knows regarding the said controversy.

Mitra stated in one of his text messages that he knows that Bolante will be defending himself and also those that are linked to it but he said that they are eager to unveil the truth. He said that they will be asking Bolante only the right questions to draw the whole scenario to what really happened to the P728 million that were supposed to be spent for the farmers. He added that the truth is their goal.

Bolante, for his part, did not attend the House Agriculture committee’s first hearing for he said that he is under the Senate’s custody, thus, he said that the House’s invitation could not be granted.
